Music Teacher – Anticipated
.6 PT Position
The successful candidate will:
Valley Stream UFSD 13 seeks a highly dedicated and collaborative individual to join the music department. The primary responsibility of this position will be an elementary orchestra ensemble including concert performances, student lessons for all string instruments, and preparation for student participation in NYSSMA, All-County, and LISFA festivals. This position may also support General Music classes pending district needs.
Qualifications:
- String specialist required
- Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and creative classroom environment
- Ability to differentiate music instruction to meet the diverse needs and interests of students
- Ability to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage music development
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and caregivers
- Willingness to continue to professionally growth in music instruction
- Willingness to positively and professionally contribute to the music department
- Motivated to promote student performances within the school community.
